Just Keith

Seasoned Killer

I saw Autumn lovers loving,
At dusk they lay, no words to say,
Is this a dagger I see?
A body falls on lifeless leaves.

Beneath crooked timber,
And fragment splinters
Lovers dance, the last dance,
A leafless dawn, Winter romance.

Now I see, Spring lovers loving,
I cannot speak seasoned warning,
Shining red in twilight,
A Sun-blessed bloody knife.

Summer sunrise, no disguise,
New leaves shadow sunny skies,
I'm a killer, but yet am free,
No-one ever suspects a tree.
